Carlene Walterhouse

Hi, hello!

Carlene is a Registered Psychiatric Nurse licensed and regulated by British Columbia’s College of Nurses and Midwives (#0974596). She has worked in mental health for ten years and has experience working in inpatient, outpatient and community mental health settings. She currently works in Eating Disorder programming. In private practice she offers individual and group counselling, workshops as well as community events.

Carlene understands the courage it takes to seek therapy, and considers it a great privilege to walk alongside those who choose to work with her. She has a special interest in working with people whose relationship with food, sex, their body and mental health is influenced by their current or past spiritual beliefs, religious trauma and/or complex and developmental trauma. Her practice is grounded in trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and strengths-based approaches. She is HAES aligned and LGBTQ+ affirming.

Carlene maintains ongoing supervision from renowned experts and authors including: Evelyn Tribole (RD, Author & Co--creator of IE), Raja Selvam (SEP & Author), Abi Blakeslee (Ph.D., MFT & SEP Legacy Faculty), Mahshid Hager (SEP) and more.
